Paintings & Inspirations

Siesta time in Cordoba

Is it weird to have artwork on a mindset coaching site?

Maybe. Maybe not.

Creativity and mindset go hand in hand. Where do these paintings come from if not from a place of intuition, inspiration, and flow? I believe we all have inner whispers鈥攇entle nudges that can guide us toward creativity, productivity, or deeper self-expression.

When we pause and listen, we feel fueled, energized, and ready to follow where that path leads. Sometimes, for me, that path leads to painting.

And where better to share them than here, in a space that reflects my journey?

So, without further ado, here they are.

If they resonate with you, I鈥檇 love to hear your thoughts. 馃槉

Portrait of Aisha Perks

This is a large black and white pencil drawing of my daughter Aisha. Absolutely loved doing this and it was an exploration into black and white.

Oil Paintings

Oil is a medium I love to work in but I’m no speedy Gonzalez when I work in oil. My Dutch Cow took about a year to complete, with me working on it at the weekends.

My Dutch Cow

This picture was inspired by a young cow in Holland who I walked past one morning.

The painting is a tribute to all the cows in the world.

I’ve always adored the gentle gaze of a cow’s curious expression – and this was a way to immortalise her.

She is My Dutch Cow.

Innocence

The inspiration for Innocence was similar to My Dutch Cow. A field of young calves innocently gazing at the human visitors with all their big-eyed curiosity.

The painting is about the essence of life and peace and gentle, innocent curiosity.

Siesta Time in C贸rdoba

The first time I visited C贸rdoba it was mid July and over 40潞c. As we walked through the streets, it was like something from a movie after the end of the world!

There was absolutely nobody around. Not a car stirred. Not a pedestrian strolled.

After a while, we saw an open ice-cream shop and I asked why the city was so empty.

The answer? Who would be in the streets in C贸rdoba in the middle of a summer day? They’ve all gone to the beach or to their beds for a siesta!

And so was the spark of inspiration for creating this painting.

Reflections

Water is fascinating. Just as we see our lives as fixed while in truth we are seeing reflections of our own emotions, values, interpretations and filters, so is it with water.

This was inspired by going out on a friend’s boat in a lake in Holland.

Life

Another calf, inspired by the look in his eye.

Pastels & Pencil

Before working in oil, my chosen medium used to be pastels.

Amsterdam Canal

No visit to Amsterdam would be complete without taking time to admire the canals. This was simply that – in admiration of a city full of life and beauty.
